how this started
a backlog of good audio that never shipped
we'd rather you spend your hours talking — and ours making it sound right.
Slate Birch began the way most podcasts stall: someone recorded a dozen great conversations, then watched them sit on a hard drive because editing felt like a second job. Sound familiar? You hit record, the talk goes well — and then the editing, the levels, the music, the export settings all pile up until the momentum is gone.
So we built a studio around the part everyone gets stuck on. You bring the voice and the ideas. We take the raw tracks and turn them into episodes that sound like they belong in the top of the feed — edited for pace, cleaned of room noise, mixed, and mastered to the −16 LUFS podcast loudness standard so your show is as clear and confident as the big ones beside it.
The name says the rest. Slate for the clean, deliberate take — the marker that says we start here and we get it right. Birch for the warm, light-grained panels lining the room, the wood that keeps the sound honest. Together: a studio that's precise where it counts and warm where it matters.
Today we work with Fairfield-area businesses and creators who want a show that keeps a schedule — not a someday project. You record. We ship. Your audience keeps showing up.
